About Arthys LARP

Playstyle: Sandbox, low rule, play to lift, play to struggle, collaborative character driven, intimate.

Welcome to Arthys, a Sci-fi LARP run in and from the Netherlands.

Set on the vibrant planet of Arthys-5, our events cover diverse themes, locations, and experiences, from political intrigue to military campaigns. We emphasize creativity, storytelling, and collaboration over rigid rules. If you think your character can do it, they can (to a certain extent, of course).

Our events are intentionally small, typically hosting 20-30 players. Upon announcing the event's theme, players are given a selection of character descriptions, allowing you to choose up to 3 that resonate most with you and then will deepen its backstory in collaboration with plot writers. Making sure that everyone has a place in the narrative. Major time skips between events lead to significant developments in the world and future characters' lives. With different physical locations for each event, you’ll always find new environments to explore time after time.

At Arthys, your actions matter. What you do in one event can influence the story for the next event, your future character, and contribute to the ongoing development of the world itself. Each event offers plotlines that challenge you with interpersonal dilemmas, puzzles to solve, and tough decisions to make. While most players never play the same character twice, there are occasional exceptions. (And this is subject to change after playtesting.)

We keep attire simple: modern-day clothing is the base unless otherwise specified. In some events, basic military clothing in dark colors may be required. And, when the situation calls for it, Nerf guns may come into play.

Note: Arthys LARP is for participants aged 18+. Themes like homelessness, oppression and war may be explored, so trigger warnings are provided upon announcement of an event. Player discretion is advised. The primary languages of the LARP are English and Dutch.
